Neil Olofsson has over 25 years of global experience at the coal face of corporate governance in some of the world's largest businesses. Of British origin, he grew up and was educated in the United Kingdom where he graduated from London Guildhall University with a degree in Law in 1995 and went on to complete his ICSA exams whilst working for KPMG and Clifford Chance.

Neil’s early career was spent in the Company Secretariat at Schroders in London, before travel took him down under, to Australia, where he joined ING Australia as its Company Secretary. He joined Brookfield (or Multiplex, as it was then known in Australia) shortly after that and over the next decade worked for the company throughout the region in various executive roles, including leadership of the company secretarial and compliance function for Brookfield Asset Management throughout Australia and Asia. 

In 2018, Neil was appointed Corporation Secretary of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, based in Hong Kong and responsible for a large team of over 80 company secretaries across Asia and Australia. His career experience over the past 25 years gave him strong conviction to establish GRI as a business that could change the recruitment of governance professionals and teams as we know it. Neil was convinced, as an insider in a world that not everyone readily understands, that he would be well placed to find the most competent and suitable people to work in the governance functions of the kinds of businesses he has served throughout his career. 

He hopes to assist company secretaries to analyze their teams with a fresh pair of eyes to help strengthen or restructure teams to achieve maximum team efficiencies. He strongly believes he and the GRI team will consistently succeed in matching the best people to its clients and also provide company secretarial teams with support during busy periods and provide specialist transactional experience when necessary.
